The winners of the European Patient Digital Health Awards 2022, organised by MSD (known as Merck & Co in the USA and Canada) in partnership with Digital Health Academy and Allied for Startups, were announced at today’s award ceremony.

Healthcare innovation, backed by tech and science, is becoming the ultimate game changer for patients, carers, and their families and the European Patient Digital Health Awards is here to recognise it.

The members of the judging panel formed of patient representatives and startup entrepreneurs chose three winners from across 18 European countries.

  • Category 1: Digital Prevention and Diagnostics, Mental Health, and Social Support

Fidelio Medical SRL – Italy: A digital diagnostic solution to screen and monitor iron deficiency and anemia in women and their babies. Excited with the recognition, Simona Roggero, the CEO of the enterprise, said her mission is to be a doctor who develops innovative technologies, always listening to what patients have to share.

  • Category 2: New Ways to Interact with Healthcare Teams and Providers

Klinika Digjitale –  Kosovo: A cutting-edge software that offers faster, closer, and less expensive services to patients regardless of the distance with their preferred physician or health care institution anywhere in the world. Its CEO, Dr Dardan Asllani is determined to continue finding digital solutions for patients: “Klinika Digjitale is part of the ongoing evolution in digital health. We are introducing a new personalised digital healthcare model named “Your health in your own hands”, with the patient at its centre, and the health data owned by the patient. This award, supported by MSD, is an important recognition and will serve as motivation to continue our work in digital health transformation.

  • Category 3: Disease Monitoring and Therapeutics

Beats Medical – Ireland: The Beats Medical Parkinson’s Therapy App is a Parkinson’s therapy service that addresses the Mobility, Speech and Dexterity symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. This digital tool has helped users around the world to address their symptoms at home, through daily, tailored therapies and a dedicated support service.
